Build Extensions and Optimize for “2.0” as an Organization

You probably noticed our refreshed look coinciding with the Twitch brand update, but we wanted to share a few product updates to the Developer Console as well. These were just a few of the updates we covered during Developer Camp at TwitchCon San Diego 2019.

Developer Organizations

Extensions can now be shared among members of an organization. If you have already worked with Twitch as a team, you’ll see a new widget alongside the Games you manage and any associated Drops campaigns.

We rolled out the ability for teams to build Extensions collaboratively within the console, allowing individual Twitch account holders to squad up and create Extensions. Now, you can request an organization, enabling you to invite friends and colleagues to build Extensions — without needing to share a single account or assign a build lead. This was one of our most requested features, and we can’t wait to see what teams can build together. If you were already a part of a company, you will see Extension activated as part of the organizations release.

Extensions Analytics Dashboard [Preview]

An example Extension reporting installs over an eight-day period. Extension data can be exported as a .csv by the specific selected view or all of the data available (365 days prior).

Recently, we launched a brand new analytics dashboard for all Extension developers, making it easy to see the performance of your Extension on Twitch. Rather than downloading a .csv or using our API, you can use the online dashboard to quickly get insights around viewer and streamer behaviors with your Extension. We hope the Analytics Dashboard provides you the insights you need to make even better decisions on how to improve your Extension for version 2.0 and beyond.

To access the dashboard for your Extension’s analytics, navigate to the version overview page and click on the analytics button at the top. Analytics for a given day are posted after 48 hours.

Hey, Game Developers! You can find an analytics dashboard for every game you own by viewing all of your games, clicking the box-art for the title you are interested in, and selecting the analytics tab. As a bonus, we also show you the top clips for your game based on the dates selected.
