Watch and co-stream the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, only on Twitch
The only thing better than watching anime is debating your favorites with friends. This week on Twitch, don’t miss out on the chance to do both.
On February 24 at 6:00 PM PT, join thousands of fans in Twitch chat to watch the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Live from Hollywood, the event celebrates the best anime of 2017 with hosts Erika Ishii and Anthony Carboni. We’re streaming the whole show exclusively on /crunchyroll, and you’re invited.
In addition to the awards, you won’t want to miss appearances from over a dozen special guests, including filmmaker Freddie Wong, voice actress Stephanie Sheh, and the always hilarious ProZD. There will also be a Cowboy Bebop-themed musical performance from Alice Underground, and the first Anime Awards Industry Icon recipient, Chris Sabat, will be honored for his work on some of anime’s most influential and popular series, including Dragon Ball, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Fairy Tale.
If you suddenly have a convenient case of plot amnesia and need a refresher on 2017’s best anime, worry not! Starting Thursday at 9:00 AM PT, we’re teaming up with Crunchyroll to run a mini marathon on Twitch (US only) featuring Anime Awards nominees, including The Ancient Magus’ Bride, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!, GAMERS!, TSUKIGAKIREI, Kemono Friends, and more to be announced plus a few other surprises we’ll announce soon. Be sure to follow /crunchyroll for the latest news.
Co-stream the show
Once the award show kicks off, if you want to host an anime event just for your community and even add your own commentary over the show, you’re welcome to co-stream the event on your own channel! All you have to do is set your game to “Crunchyroll Anime Awards,” capture the stream on twitch.tv/crunchyroll, and you’re good to go.
Vote directly on Twitch
We partnered with Crunchyroll to design an interactive, only-on-Twitch Extension built right into the video player. Use it to predict the winner of each category before they’re announced live. Feeling like Akko should win Best Girl? Cast your vote and state your case in chat!
The “Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2018” Extension will be available on the official Crunchyroll stream, but starting today, anyone can activate it on their own channel through the dashboard. You can use it early to get your community voting, even if you’re just playing PUBG. Just remember, once you vote on someone’s channel, all your future votes are tied to that channel, no matter what. It’s the most important decision you’ll ever make in your entire life.
The mini marathon kicks off on Feb 22 for fans in the US, followed by the Crunchyroll Anime Awards on Feb 24 for fans all around the world. Catch all the action on /crunchyroll, or if you’re lucky enough to be near Los Angeles, grab tickets to the event and show up on the stream yourself!
