MINECON 2016 is streaming on Twitch this weekend! Here’s what to watch for
What do Minecraft fans like to do when they’re not building full-scale replicas of ancient civilizations or fully-functional CPUs? Get together with other Minecraft fans, of course. That’s exactly what’s happening this weekend as the Anaheim Convention Center plays host to MINECON 2016, a celebration of all things crafting.
If you didn’t score a ticket to MINECON, don’t you worry. The events will be streaming live on Twitch all weekend. Here are all the details you need to know.
Stars and Fans Compete in the Minecraft Tournament
We’re excited to announce that Twitch is partnering with Mojang, Microsoft, and Hypixel to host a tournament featuring some of the biggest personalities in the world of Minecraft. On both Saturday and Sunday starting at 12PM PDT, head over to twitch.tv/minecontourney to see Minecraft stars compete in community-favorite minigames like Build Battle, Parkour, The Walls, and Skywars. Those in attendance can also compete in the Tournament Zone for a chance to appear live on stage in the Public Finals. And don’t fret if you’re not some hardcore esports athlete. This will be a fun, lighthearted competition that’s more about creativity than lightning-quick reflexes.
