LethalFrag — Two Year Live Stream Challenge Comes To An End

In December of 2011, Matthew McKnight, aka LethalFrag, posted on his blog that he’d soon embark on an epic quest to stream every single day for two years straight and at least two hours per session, starting on Janurary 5th, 2012.

The concept was beyond novel, but was met with a fair amount of skepticism. Lethal at the time had a fairly modest following. But as the days rolled into weeks, months, and eventually years, the LethalFrag stream began to pick up steam. Today, LethalFrag is a staple of the Twitch community and regularly achieves many thousands of viewers for his nightly streams.

Now we sit at the precipice of the challenge. Just three more days remains in Lethal’s self-imposed challenge. Here are a few words from the man himself:

“I started my challenge to stream every day almost two years ago with 662 followers and 60,000 video views. My hope was to be able to get my stream and online presence to a point where I could support myself and my daughter, providing the quality of life I felt she deserved.

Looking back I am amazed at the support I have received, not only from my community but the staff at Twitch.tv. Video game livestreaming has been growing at a rapid rate since I began two years ago, it is now larger than I would have imagined and the opportunities for success are great. Most people that enter the entertainment industry will fail, but I am living proof that career opportunities are available on Twitch.tv.

I will be forever grateful for the opportunities I have received. Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to support me even with only a few minutes of their day. This has been one of the greatest challenges of my life but I look forward to returning from vacation and starting my career on Twitch.tv”
