Search returns to Twitch iOS and Android Apps

Arriving today for both iOS and Android devices is the latest version of the Twitch mobile viewing app. And while both apps feature their own unique set of updates and fixes, something they do have in common is a newly implemented search feature. Yes, search functionality has returned after a long, hard stint at rehab and it’s here to not only perform its function, but return only relevant, mobile-viewable content from the Twitch website.

Along with various bug fixes and improvements, the iOS version of the Twitch mobile viewing app also features a new, full-screen chat mode that makes for an excellent second-screen experience for both broadcasters and viewers alike. For those who lack a second monitor, or just don’t like cluttering up your screen while broadcasting, you can now use the app exclusively for chat. And for viewers, the full-screen chat will come in handy for those who watch full-screen content on their monitors, or those who just want to join in on the conversation while using the Xbox app.

The Android app features search, along with other fixes as we continue to bring it to feature parity with its iOS sibling. We’ve also added infinite scroll to the games and channel directories, allowing you to browse through the content without additional taps.

As always, work on the apps will continue and we’re always interested in your feedback. Download the Twitch mobile viewing app from both the iTunes App Store, and the Google Play Store.
