Say Hello to the Twitch Media Group
When you watch our ads, you’re supporting both Twitch and your favorite streamers, so we want to keep those spots as relevant and engaging as possible. CBSi has done a bang up job over the past year to ensure we had great advertisers, so we plan to continue that tradition with the Twitch Media Group, our new in-house advertising sales team.
Why the change? We wanted to have a direct relationship with our business partners to ensure our brand retains its appeal as our community continues to grow. With our own hands in the mix, we’ll be able to evaluate new benefits for partners with a focus on community friendly future ad products. And who did we tap with the skills to pay the bills to join the TMG? Glad you asked:
Kym Nelson: Taking on the role of Senior Vice President of Sales, Kym previously served as VP, west coast sales at IGN Entertainment from 2002–2012. At IGN, she led the company’s award-winning advertising sales team in developing strategic digital marketing programs that delivered superior return on investment for leading game publishers, advertisers and agencies.
Andy Swanson: As VP of Sales, Andy is a 15 year veteran of the video game ad sales industry beginning in 1995 where he rose to a position of publisher in Future’s Games Group. He then served as Senior Director of Strategic Sales and Partnerships at Ubisoft from 2007 to 2010, and was most recently VP of Digital Business Development at GameFly.
Christina Grushkin: Our new Senior Sales Manager previously served as Senior Sales Manager at Future US since 2005. She brings not only a wealth of understanding about the business of gaming, but expertise in media buying and planning.
This is just a snapshot of the team’s background and expertise, but the big takeaway is they know gaming and love Twitch, so expect great things!
