Twitch iOS Version 2.3.2 Released to App Store
Twitch iOS Users -
Here at Twitch we are dedicated to providing the best video platform for gamers that we possibly can. As a team of engineers, we have a nearly symbiotic relationship with the products that we build. When we screw up, as we occasionally do, we feel the pain intimately.
That’s why it has been so painful for us to watch the performance and user reception of our iOS application over the last several months. Put plainly, its quality did not live up to our expectations. In fact, it was broken much of the time for many of our users. We let you down, we know it, and we’re sorry.
Today, however, we are are pleased report that Apple yesterday approved version 2.3.2 of the Twitch iOS app, and it fixes some of the long-standing major issues that you’ve experienced in the past. Namely, a critical login bug has been fixed, and you should experience improved video quality. Please update to the latest version, give it a whirl, and let us know what you think. If you love it, please give it a good review.
Now, there will undoubtedly still be lingering bugs, and we still have a long way to go, but the current version of the app should make it much more useable for most people. We now have a beta testing program (thanks, Twitch Partners!) that will cut down on the occurrence of less-than-perfect builds that go to market. Thank you for your patience. We promise the new app is an improvement, and that it will get even better over time.
Android users, we haven’t forgotten about you! Now that we have a more robust iOS roadmap in place, we’re launching a renewed focus on Android as well. Stay tuned for an announcement next week enlisting the help of the Twitch community in developing the vision for the next version of our Android app.
And remember, please help us help you. Give us feedback in the comments or at feedback@twitch.tv. We are always listening. Thanks so much!
Sincerely, The Twitch Team
